DNS entries and default gateway

What has happened SO FAR:

So far, devices like PLC controllers, visualizations, webcams, etc. had to be in the same network as the service IP address. Communication on the WAN side or on the Internet was not possible until now.

What is NEW?

Devices no longer have to be in the same local network as the service IP address, for both the SERC and the SEPROX service. Instead of using an IP address, communication can now also be resolved via DNS entries and thus run on the WAN or Internet.

What does that mean EXACTLY ?

This means that instead of an IP address, a DNS entry is completely sufficient. Hence, it is e.g. possible to read or write Modbus data via permalink from a remote PLC control.
