System and site networking

Be the master of your plants’ destiny.

Sounds easier than it actually is. Especially when some of them contain older installations and are remotely located. But only if you possess all the important information, measured values and data of your systems and sites, you are able to plan and operate wisely. And this in such a way that you are managing your plants and not the other way around.

HOOC CrossLink therefore not only offers you an efficient system networking service (data routing via OSI layer 3) but also a smart site networking solution (data link on OSI layer 2). While with the first one, you will be able to collect the data of all your systems at a central point, the second will even allow the different sites to communicate among each other. And all this comfortably from home or office - thanks to the HOOC client app.

In one line: Remote control on a larger scale. For all those that rather «go big» instead of «go figure».

The different networking solutions

Not all networking solutions are the same. Whether it’s a simple site-to-site VPN or a complex setup with isolated systems – HOOC CrossLink scales to match. One platform, endless possibilities – tailored to your needs.

What is a layer 2 networking solution?

Layer 2 networking solution

The classic networking at the layer 2 level is an extension of several on-site networks via a virtual switch in the cloud. This kind of networking creates a flat network structure with transparent IP communication between all network participants.

Case example: Control of heating networks

How works a layer 3 networking solution

Layer 3 networking solution

With the layer 3 networking solution, HOOC allows IP end devices to network with each other, regardless of their IP addresses. This means that end devices and systems with different or the same subnet ranges can be connected by default.

Case example: Monitoring of production sites

How work separated networking groups

Separation of networks

In order to prevent uncontrolled data transfers between networks, it can sometimes be necessary to isolate systems from one another. Hence, critical systems can be isolated from less important networks while still being connected to each other.

Case example: Maintenance work by third parties

How to combine different network groups?

Combining physical and separated networks

Often the demands on access and networking are multi-layered. Needs can range from simple VPNs in dedicated VLANs to cross-location networking solutions. In order to meet those requirements, network groups can be combined with a virtual system.

Case example: FTP transfer from PLCs in separated networks
